From the people at the Front Desk to the personal trainers & floor assistants this is the best gym to go to especially if you’re just beginning your weight loss journey. They don’t make you feel different; they just help you. These kind people have made it possible for this shy girl, who wouldn’t have walked into a gym at 198 lbs to lose 60 lbs and gain her confidence back!!

I have been trying to resolve an issue with my daughter’s swimming lesson registration since February, and the communication has been extremely disappointing. I called multiple times and sent emails asking for help registering my daughter, but I never received a callback or proper follow-up. After calling again, I was told they spoke with the director or someone in charge. Ryan then sent me one email asking what day I wanted to register my daughter, but after I replied, I never heard back again. I was eventually able to register my daughter for April classes by going in person, but when it came time to register for May, the same problems happened again. I spoke with someone and the director even called me confirming my daughter was registered for Saturday classes. However, when I went today, I found out she was never registered at all. This whole experience has been very frustrating and unprofessional, especially after months of trying to communicate and confirm everything properly.

My daughter Jaelynn has been fighting since the day she was born. At just 32 weeks and 2 pounds 13 ounces, she entered this world with life-threatening conditions. Doctors told me she wouldn’t make it home—but after 10 months in the hospital, 21 diagnoses, and 27 surgeries… she proved them wrong. Today, she’s a happy, fearless little girl who loves the water. And that terrifies me. As a single mom of four, I know how quickly a moment around water can change everything. Swim lessons aren’t a luxury for us—they’re a necessity. Thanks to the YMCA’s “Swim for Jenny” program, Jaelynn is learning how to stay safe. Her instructor, Shanice, has been patient, kind, and truly life-changing for our family. The YMCA didn’t just teach my daughter how to swim—they gave me peace of mind. If you have a child, please don’t wait. This isn’t just about swimming… it’s about saving lives.

Great facility!! Shiny clean, too!! Super welcoming staff!! Rosie greeted us and provided useful information with absolute ease and a truly caring heart....customer service EXCELLENCE!! I look forward to trying some classes here. A side note of thanks to the Association Director of Healthy Living, Dean Moffo, who happened to be outside of the equipment room as we toured. His enthusiasm is a great indicator for the advancements we will see for the YMCA here in Fort Lauderdale.
