I visited the YMCA today to enroll my son in summer camp and, since I was unable to reach anyone by phone, I stopped by in person. I'm glad I did because it gave me a chance to see the facility again. The YMCA offers a wide variety of programs and amenities for families. The pool and surrounding areas are modern, clean, and very well maintained. My children have previously trained for soccer on the large outdoor field, which has plenty of space for multiple groups and activities. They also offer swimming lessons, and members have access to the pool for recreational use. In addition to the aquatic facilities, there is a separate play area, basketball courts, and outdoor tennis courts. Membership includes access to a variety of group fitness classes such as Zumba, Pilates, cycling, and Tai Chi. Personal training is also available for an additional fee, with a dedicated training area on site. What stands out most is how welcoming and friendly the staff are. The entire facility is impeccably maintained and looks much newer than its age. I also appreciate that they offer a teacher discount. My son will be attending summer camp here, and based on my experience so far, I feel very confident about the program.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the YMCA. My concerns started before camp even began. It was surprisingly difficult to get basic information about the summer camp program. I reached out multiple times with questions and often received delayed responses or no response at all. As a parent, it was frustrating not being able to get important details in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the situation became much worse when it came to billing. Due to medical reasons, I requested to cancel my membership. Despite that, I was still charged for the membership. On top of that, the YMCA immediately charged me the full non-member camp rate. As a result, I was charged both for the membership and for camp at the higher non-member price at the same time. This made absolutely no sense and left me feeling misled and frustrated. I specifically reached out to Grisel Almeida, Association Director of Membership Sales, multiple times regarding my membership cancellation, camp charges, and refund request. Despite repeated follow-ups, I have not received a clear explanation or timely resolution. Weeks later, I am still waiting for answers and for this issue to be properly addressed. What disappoints me most is the complete lack of communication and transparency throughout this process. First, it was difficult to get information about camp. Then I was charged for a membership I was trying to cancel while simultaneously being charged the full camp rate as a non-member. No one has been able to clearly explain why. While some staff members have been kind and helpful, the way this situation has been handled is unacceptable. Families deserve clear communication, accurate billing, and prompt customer service when problems arise. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this YMCA location.

I live in Texas and Hollywood FL. Wanted to join this Y but front desk was not helpful. I walked out. Will join when I get back to Texas much more helpful there about membership info.

Me and my boyfriend came swimming here a few days ago and had a pretty scary experience in the pool. We were in the deep end and swam down to the bottom and looked at the wall and saw these massive grates with fans inside of them to clean the pool. The fans were spinning slow enough to not be dangerous. All the sudden the fans sped up and started pulling us under the water. Me and my boyfriend Connor screamed HELP and the lifeguards jumped in to save us ! The 2 cute guys swam down and tried to sell us a Braun 400 pound TSL washer. They said we must put 500$ down payment on the washer before they shut the fans off and saved us. We were so fortunate to have that cash on us so we were able to be saved. The fans turned off and the cute guys saved our lives. We were just shocked that these lifeguards who are supposed to be saving lives r also selling washers and making good commission. We sadly left asking ourselves did this place hire lifeguard hero’s or laundry salesman disguised as lifeguards? Not the ymca experience we were hoping for but glad we made it out alive. If you look at the picture below, you will see the washer that they tried to sell us , me and my boyfriend hanging out and the cute lifeguards that saved us but also made commission selling us a ridiculously huge washer !

( perfect water temp, super clean and never too crowded). It is always a pleasure to be able to work out in a nice environment like YMCA, yoj truly feel like you belong to one family.
