Kitsap Sailing Foundation is a volunteer-run nonprofit offering week-long youth sailing camps on the Silverdale waterfront in collaboration with the Port of Silverdale. Campers ages 8-12 learn to sail single-sail Optimist dinghies, covering rigging, wind awareness and points of sail, steering and sail control, right-of-way rules, and capsize safety and recovery, Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 4:30pm at $375 per week. Learn to Sail sessions welcome beginners, with an Intermediate week for campers who complete those skills. Military and sibling discounts and scholarships are available, and the foundation also runs middle and high school sailing teams.
