Irondequoit Community Center at 450 Skyview Centre Parkway is the base of the Town of Irondequoit's Recreation Department, which runs a multi-track municipal summer camp program. Tracks include Kinder Camp for the youngest campers, a day camp split into Guppies, Sunnies and Pikes groups, the long-running Woodcraft camp at the Woodcraft Lodge (8:00am to 3:30pm, with a separate overnight offered), and drop-in Playgrounds at the Colebrook, Rogers and Ivan Green sites. Each track publishes its own parent packet and weekly activity calendars, and cancellations more than seven days before a session start are refunded as household credit.

★Joe ZaccariaIrondequoit Rec is very disconnected from community engagement and more interested in holding personal grudges against members of the community, whom dedicate their time volunteering in youth organizations. It's shocking that people who receive no compensation care more about developing the community's youth into great young men and women than the people who get paid to do so. They present themselves with an overall poor attitude, do not want to address adults directly and would rather be keyboard warriors hiding behind uninformed emails, and act as if they'd be happier with an empty building rather than one that actively engaged in community development. The director of the rec department should be ashamed of the way this organization is ran after all of the money that was spent to create the new space, they are missing many opportunities to capitalize on true community development. If there was an option for less than 1-star I would have selected that.
★★★★Arlene SippelThe new rec center is very nice inside. Great use of the old mall. As of this writting, today was our day visiting. The staff was friendly and helpful. The facilities, including bathrooms clean. My three year old enjoyed the tot turf and basketball court. We signed up for some kiddie classes, so we're looking forward to those this fall.
