Powered by GoogleI was physically assaulted and reported it to the police. The police told me to also report it to the YMCA. I reported it to the YMCA staff, and they had me fill out a form and said they would call me back. However, no one has contacted me. I have sent emails and made phone calls, but I have not received any response. It feels like the YMCA does not care about safety until someone is dead.
It was cool here for awhile. This is the YMCA I grew up at but as an adult it’s honestly terrible. The men’s steam room has been down since January and not one person on staff can tell you when it will be up and running again. The light in the sauna has also been down for some months now, making you feel like a creep in the dark. Not to mention the pool being down since February is definitely one of the bigger reasons this location hasn’t been seeing much traffic. Aside from all of that, my biggest problem is that this location closes at 2 o’clock on the weekends. For this to be a community facility it’s not really giving the best opportunity to be healthy on the weekends if you also work. For the membership to have gone up in price and for this to be the customers experience is kinda crazy. Right?
Hands down one of the worst gym experiences I've had. I've been going consistently for the last year or two as the location is convenient and close. Staff are consistently unwelcoming, distracted, and unhelpful. Zero professionalism, zero hospitality. As you walk in you feel like an inconvenience instead of a member, when an issue arises, there is no guidance, friendliness, or help at all. Even after the renovation the equipment variety is extremely limited, the layout of everything is horrid covering big mirrors with unnecessary machines. The atmosphere is uncomfortable, there are many encounters of multiple rude, inconsiderate people with no staff presence to manage behavior or enforce gym etiquette. On top of that, recently been having items stolen periodically. This is unacceptable for a fitness facility, clearly a lack of security and accountability, which makes it impossible to feel safe in the facility anymore. Additionally, when trying to resolve that issue checking cameras or any leads, they are reluctant to do anything about it, and send you on your way out. This place has completely lost what YMCA is supposed to represent, I wouldn't recommend anyone looking for a welcoming, safe or gym experience to sign up and pay this hefty fee of 36-43$. I will never return to this specific location and find a different gym.
I recently joined and have had a great experience! Indy, Davan,Eona and Alana are very welcoming and kind! Indy walked me through my registration with great input and help along with Davan, Eona, and Alana. I attended my first class today and was humbled! Inez gave me a great challenge in the spin class! Great music and choreography! I got an excellent workout! Patricia B. saw me struggling with setting up the bike. She jumped in and helped me get into a proper and safe position. Patricia B. gave me a tremendous amount of much needed help to change gears and learn the call out changes. She checked in on me to take it easy when I was struggling. Patricia was my angel that day! I also appreciated the warm up and cool down especially stretching afterwards, off the bike. Responsible fitness is crucial. I am a therapist who often deals with exercise injuries, so I have a deeper appreciation of the importance of it. When I left class, Indy was thereand greeted me with a smile and encouragement! The gym is clean and well maintained with alot to offer. I saw the sneaker recycle donation box and it made me feel good to see the community support here, too! I enjoy the vibe here!
My family and I went t the YMCA for years when i was a kid. It was so different then. So family oriented. It's def no longer like that. Staff is no where as nice as they use to be. I went there specifically for spin class and it's def not what i am use to at all. The instructor i had was so not friendly. Normally when i go to a new spin class the instructor really acknowledges you. Will introduce her or himself to you and just make you feel welcomed This specific instructor was real different. I will stop here because i have nothing good to say. Skimming through the responses i can see others felt unwelcomed also specifically by the front desk. I definitely need to find a new place. The hours are also horrible. Wish i had a different experience.
