Traditional day camp run by the Dedham Community House since 1924, on its campus and pool in Dedham Square, drawing campers from Dedham, Boston, Norwood, Westwood and Needham. Each camp day mixes arts and crafts, sports, games, drama and swimming, and the camp serves children ages five through 11 (entering kindergarten through 6th grade). A separate Counselor In Training program for 14- and 15-year-olds has teens do team-building and leadership work before shadowing counselors, program specialists and lifeguards. The nonprofit offers financial assistance, accepts vouchers, and gives a $100 per-week discount to campers in the Dedham Public Schools TREK program.

★Maya HachemOur 10-year-old camper was bullied at this camp. Other campers repeatedly called him gay, wrote his name on a pride flag, and excluded him from activities. He came home devastated and now refuses to return to camp, to school, or even be around other children. Leadership admitted the incident happened but refused to arrange even a direct apology from the children involved. Instead, they told us the parents had “apologized to the camp” and suggested we seek therapy for him. As though the responsibility lies with us, not with the program that allowed the bullying. This was a moment for leadership to model accountability and show that bullying is taken seriously. Instead, they minimized the harm, deflected responsibility, and left a child feeling unsafe and abandoned. If you expect a camp where children are truly protected and respected, and where leadership stands up against bullying rather than hiding behind excuses, I strongly advise looking elsewhere.
★Gabriella TheveninI’m extremely concerned about how leadership has handled repeated incidents of a white camper inappropriately touching other children. Despite multiple reports, the camper remains at camp while staff who speak up are the ones being moved or silenced. This response prioritizes protecting the camper over the safety of others. It’s hard to ignore the racial bias—if this were a Black child, consequences would likely have been swift and severe. The camp’s inaction and double standards are unacceptable and reflect a deeper issue of systemic racism.

Though my favorite is their kids club program which allows parents a date night & kids get to hang with other kids instead of just the babysitter. I've reccomended DCH to many friends/neighbors that live in the area because there is no end to the fun they have. The pool is also very pleasant in the summer time.

I love how you can decorate how youd like and theres pretty much no limitations except you cant serve alcohol of course, without a license. The only thing i didnt like was the scrunch of time they give you to get ready and clean up. Otherwise, it was excellent and the guy who meets you there and comes after is very nice. Would definitely have another party here.
