David D. Hunting YMCA
Private
The David D. Hunting YMCA in downtown Grand Rapids hosts one of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids' branch-based summer day camps, running Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for children ages 5-12 who have completed young fives or kindergarten. Ten themed weeks run June 8 through August 14, mixing songs, arts and crafts, character development, team building, sports, fine arts, reading, science and swimming; the Y provides morning and afternoon snacks and campers bring a peanut-free lunch. Camps are licensed by the State of Michigan, run a 1:10 counselor-to-camper ratio and include no screen time, and a Y membership is not required. Bussing to YMCA Camp Manitou-Lin is offered from this branch. Weekly rates are $250 for members and $300 for non-members, with financial assistance available.

Powered by GoogleMe and my boys absolutely loved it here It was our first time and we plan on spending a lot of our hot summer days here!! I'm so thankful for the #YMCA!! ❤️💦❣️
It's a busy and popular place. I love the new Egym. My only gripe is there isn't a very, big area to do your own exercises with yoga mats and free weights. It gets very crowded. The locker rooms are very nice along with the hot sauna and plenty of showers. Lots of options to get into shape plus a great indoor track. Just wish people would abide by the rules. Slow walkers use up all of the lanes, so the runners have to weave through all of the lanes to get their runs in.
They finally warmed up the Family Pool so we can enjoy! They are welcoming of suggestions, and Addison helps every time! I like that they accept my Insurance, and they adjust rates for low income folks. Lifeguards and staff are super nice! Pool is clean with a nice open feeling. Minus a star because the New Family Rooms are nice, but unusable, because the really tiny hooks are not enough to hold even one persons stuff, and they will not correct.
I've been coming to this facility for about a month now, has been a great experience. It has all the proper weight equipment, you need to get healthy and in good shape, but it also has all the recovery equipment you need like a hot tub sauna and steam room. It also has a pool that you can use if you're injured for recovery or just to get a good swim, The only thing I would add would be a cold plunge. Also, the staff is very friendly and accommodating thank you
My daughter attends the Lowell YMCA Summer day camp, and has talked about going to this location once or twice a week to swim with her group. It just so happened, that our local high school pool where we typically swim on Saturdays was closed today. She suggested we make the drive to GR and try this place, and ohhhh my goodness! What an experience! The pools were the PERFECT temperature, the hot tub was relaxing when I snuck over for a quick dip (and I could peek over the side to keep an eye on her while she played with some other kids). It was just amazing. We will definitely be getting a membership and make this our new place to go hang and work out. The staff were all amazing. The lifeguards were friendly and professional, the front desk staff have a way about them that makes you feel like they are HAPPY to have you there... and for those of you who have taken your kiddos places that are "kid friendly" or even places that are MADE for children, this is not always the case with staff at those places, so it was very refreshing. Thanks for a great day guys! I wish I could give 10 stars! ❤️
