Dance Ascension, at 127 Mast Drive in Garner with a companion studio in Clayton, runs themed summer camps for dancers of varied ages and skill levels. Offerings include a PreK-to-first-grade camp built on music, dance and games; Dance Around the World, covering dance styles and traditions from different cultures; a cirque skills camp rotating through balance, flexibility, strength and coordination stations and ending in a performance; a Wicked musical camp in which campers rehearse and stage their own version; and a dance-team camp taught by university dance team members. Camp daily hours are not published.

We drive approximately an hour one-way to receive the level of instruction and attention to technique that is taught at DA. Both of my daughters are also on competitive teams and even prior they were made to feel at home. The staff are phenomenal with the little ones and cultivate a truly positive and fun learning environment.
★C PWe were disappointed with our first visit and will be seeking out a studio that is more open, welcoming, and communicative. The front office felt disorganized, and there was no clear explanation of our trial session or what to expect. Once the class began, our child mentioned that the instructor never introduced herself or the other students, and there was no effort made to create a welcoming environment. While we did not expect one-on-one attention, even a brief introduction and a few words to make a new student feel comfortable would have gone a long way. We’ve never heard from the studio as a follow up to the trial, so we assume there’s no need to explore this place further. Looking forward to finding a better suited dance home.
