Powered by GoogleThe outdoor pool is heated and clear. Showers are adequate. Could use towel basket and swimsuit spin dryer.
Very disappointed that they reduced the kidzone hours during weekday evening. I joined the Y so I could work out while my kids were in the kidzone after work but the new hours closing early during the week make it difficult for working parents to workout after work. There were always a lot of kids late in the evening too so I’m not sure why they reduced it.
This YMCA and the Kerr Family YMCA are both great, but this location really stands out. The shower rooms are much nicer, the sauna is bigger, and this facility also has a steam room. I love that the showers have two partitions, and the women’s changing room is large, refurbished, and very comfortable. The studio here is also bigger than Kerr, which I appreciate. The only downside is that there are fewer mid-morning BodyPump and BodyCombat classes. That said, Marianne is a fantastic instructor, and I attend this YMCA every Wednesday specifically for her classes. What truly made me love this YMCA was seeing a Bible in the women’s restroom, along with Bible verses available to take as you come in or out. I even saw some moms doing a small Bible study together. I am very grateful for this Christian organization. Please keep doing the good work and don’t be intimidated. It makes a difference.
I relocated here to help my daughter recuperate from major surgery. I had a routine back in Ohio, so I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to maintain it. I was so wrong! This Y has everything and more to continue all my routines plus I can continue my swimming exercises. The only thing I miss is the HotTub as they don’t have that installed here, but then again, there’s the wonderful sauna! I am so relieved and happy💕
Two stars instead of one because there are some very nice people who work at this facility. However….the outdoor pool situation has been frustrating. The lifeguards are phenomenal people but the hours are ridiculous! It’s the nicest time of year Im the fall and only open for a few days, closing at 1 on Tu and Th. This particular week, we couldn’t make it by noon on Tu and Th so planned our schedules to come on Sat. Arrived at 2:30 pm to find a note on the door indicating closed at noon! What? They don’t even open on Saturdays until 11. So frustrating. We have spoken with quite a few other swimmers who really wish they offered afternoon/early evening hours. We understand that there are swim team practices on certain days but those don’t start at 1. Also, the lifeguards have indicated they’d gladly work later hours, so not sure what the deal is. We miss our Y outdoor pool in SC and pools in TX who both remained open until 5 and 7. We joined this Y primarily for swimming and for health reasons, can’t swim indoors. So, this is significantly disappointing for us.
