Artspace is a nonprofit visual-arts center in downtown Raleigh that runs about eight weeks of week-long summer art camps for rising grades 1-12, taught by professional artists in its studios. Classes span media such as watercolor, 3D sculpture and paper puppetry; the day runs 9:00 AM-4:00 PM (drop-off from 8:30) with half-day (morning or afternoon) options. Camps run mid-June through mid-August, and up to 60 need-based scholarships covering ~90% of cost are offered to Wake County students.

One of my favorite art spaces in the Raleigh area. Always a moving experience and intriguing exhibitions. First Friday art nights are amazing to see and visit with the studio artists.

ArtSpace is an extremely well thought out and executed space for artists of all kinds. There’s something to look at everywhere. Even the building is beautiful and historic. They rotate the exhibits and artist, so you really get an immersive experience every time you visit. The team is extremely welcoming and friendly, and made up of mostly creatives themselves. This is one of the most inspiring places in Raleigh North Carolina.
