Powered by GoogleI work out here with my weight trainer once a week. They maintain it well and I am very happy with the staff here. I love my trainer and appreciate they take care of their equipment and keep it functioning well. I wish they had more mats that were newer, to stretch on after!
Absolutely disgusting. If you love the sauna / steam room / whirlpool like I do… stay far away for this YMCA. I felt like I was going to catch a staff infection the whole time I was there. -The entire floor of the pool area is covered in black and brown filth from years of improper cleaning. - the steam room REEEKS of B.O. and clearly haven’t been renovated since it was built probably in the 70s. -the sauna also reeked. Probably because the floor is wood with no drain so all the sweat can NEVER be properly cleaned from the floor or under the seating. - the whirlpool can maybe fit 3 people and is more like a warm bath than a hot tub. Everything about this place is gross and I would never be caught dead in there again.
No longer have TV near the bike studio. - And that's great! There are several TVs around displaying information. ~ in 2025 they removed the one near the studio. I'm on screens all day already, and still found myself staring at it. It's a much better experience without it! Plenty of screens still around for people that want them!
When I walked in there was a whiteboard sign that said "I thought the dryer was shrinking my clothes, turns out it was the refrigerator". Listen I understand gyms exist to promote healthy living but as someone that is overweight and lived through the thin is in era of the early 2000s this kind of language is harmful. It encourages eating disorders. I'm sure whoever put this out thought it was cute and funny. I come here with my mom for water aerobics often and it's always clean, nice facility but this really left a bad taste in my mouth. It doesn't uplift anyone that may be dealing with bad food habits. It just makes them feel bad about themselves. Not super motivating. It insinuates that the only reason you are fat is because your eat to much and that being skinny is the most important part doesn't matter how you get there. It also has hidden tones of fat people are stupid because they dont know why they are fat. Idc if I get called a snowflake or say that its not that deep. As someone that has struggled with their weight their entire life because of hormone/health related issues as well as a bad relationship with food, words matter. It is that deep. There are a lot of overweight people that have to build up a lot of courage to go to the gym because of stuff like this. I thought we were leaving the thinspiration bs in the 2000s. It's 2026 guys. Everyone's health journey is different and there shouldn't be any judgements involved.
This was the first time I ever been there. And I’m disappointed bc the hot tub ( the main reason I came was broken… 😒🥺😒🥺😒 They said the temperature wasn’t working right and the chemical balance was off. Then I heard from the other members that it’s been out of order for a couple weeks now. So probably not gonna come back to Beaumont YMCA for awhile. But at least my kid had fun
