Chicago Children’s Theatre runs one- and two-week summer camps at its West Loop home on S Racine Ave, built around devised theatre — campers create an original piece as a group and perform it for family at the end of the week in the Pritzker Family Studio Theatre. Sessions run June through August and are grouped by rising grade, from story-based camps for the youngest children up to a Neo-Futurist two-minute-play camp for rising grades 6–10, a musical theatre intensive, and a radio play and sound design camp. Most full-day camps run about 9:30am–4:00pm with free before-care and after-care included; some are half-day, and tuition ranges roughly $300–$585 per week. CCT also runs Camp Red Kite for young people on the autism spectrum, and financial assistance is available.
