Charlottesville Parks & Recreation
Private
Charlottesville Parks & Recreation runs the city's summer day camps: Camp Shenandoah for rising 1st-4th graders and Camp Blue Ridge for rising 5th-6th graders, filling weekdays with games, weekly pool trips and field trips. Camps run 7:30am-5:30pm in weekly sessions from mid-June through July, with limited bus transportation from stops inside the city school districts. A separate Adaptive Recreation Camp serves campers ages 6-26 who need more support than a traditional camp can provide. Weekly fees are $95 for city residents and $160 for non-residents, and city residents may apply for need-based scholarships before registering.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Charlottesville Parks & Recreation directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

I love the sliding scale. It is nice that they cut poor people a break! Poor people need to swim too!!
