Miller School of Albemarle runs coeducational academic day camps on its 1,600-acre campus near Charlottesville for students entering grades 6-9, taught by Miller School teachers. Weekly courses are hands-on and split between indoors and outdoors: an engineering track using the Museum of Science's Engineering is Elementary curriculum (animal prosthetics, water timers, green roofs, model rockets and a vertical farm), a science track (Eco Adventures stream studies, Forensic Science, Kitchen Chemistry, Astronomy Explorers), Spanish language and culture enrichment, and a Life on the Farm week on the school's working farm covering animal care, gardening, composting and basic carpentry. Camp runs Monday-Friday, 9:00am-3:00pm, at $400 per week, with early drop-off from 8:00am and late pickup to 4:00pm for $50/week each. Enrollment per course is capped with a waitlist option.
