Carver Recreation Center, run by Charlottesville Parks & Recreation, serves as a site for the city's summer day camps, including as a drop-off and pick-up point for younger campers (ages 6-9). I asked about the aqua aerobics and they told me they didn’t have a pool, that it was at the other rec center. Carver rec center has the bigger of the two that has workout facilities and workout equipment. They have more classes as well. My fiancée and I took a tour of the facility and they do have a decent amount of equipment and rooms. The classes they have are great and cater to all ages and types (like people who have arthritis and such). They also offer art time and coloring for children and adults, a puzzle day and much more. The prices are so affordable and they have different prices for residents, seniors and disabled people. You can also get a pass for both rec centers so you have access to Carvers better workout equipment and area and have access to the pool! Again, the helpfulness of Diane and Sharon was superb and they made me feel so welcome and want to be there.
