Powered by GoogleI was a member of the Beverly Y for years because it was the best. When the Gloucester Y was built, no expense was spared and it shows. It has a large children's outdoor water park / play area, and an astro turf field. They have the 1st indoor pool I have ever been in where you can't smell the chlorine. Much of the fitness equipment hooks to your phone so you can keep track of your progress. I no longer live in the area, but when I am staying on the North Shore this is the gym that I go to. Applause to whoever designed this place. They are brilliant. If you are a Y member who happens to be traveling in the area and want a good workout, stop in. This place is fantastic!
Locker rooms are dirty. Not sure when or how they are being cleaned but the sauna is a festering of germs. I've gone in there and there is some sort of thing on the floor that's there sometimes and other times it's not it almost looks like one of those jelly nipple covers but it's not a nipple cover it's possibly like some sort of fungus? I recently brought my baby went into the community room locker room every single changing table was filthy and I'm not talking about like wipe it off with a Clorox wipe I'm talking about Brown crusty stains that you can tell I've been there a lonnggg time or white paint droplets that easily chip off if you scratch at them & the baby will do that. They even had an adult size changing table for handicapped that one was the most disgusting of all. I had to change my baby in my arms standing up because I wouldn't even put my dog on that table. Also I guess it's been months of that air quality because I see a review from 4 months ago talking about the humidity levels they still have dehumidifiers in the locker rooms which take up a lot of space and make you wonder how safe it is to be breathing that air??
This place is amazing. A community center and fitness center all in one package. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is clean, and the users are wonderful. We love the pool for lap swimming and the exercise facilities. Many love the plethora of programs.
Great facility, very affordable, and genuinely innovative. The new eGym setup is fantastic for busy people who want a complete full body workout. Truly impressive. Whoever brought this in deserves major recognition.
Our kids were lucky enough to do a swimming program this summer for 2 weeks and the team were so fantastic both of the girls improved so much that they passed the swim test ! The coaches were fun and also pushed our two girls to really build confidence in their abilities ! Thank you !
