Powered by GoogleChoosing to have our wedding weekend at Somerset was the best decision we made. The entire camp is so stunningly beautiful with the tall pine trees, gorgeous sunsets, and renovated cabins and dining hall. You get all the beautiful backdrops for pictures AND you get to have a fun weekend full of sports, activities, and embracing your inner child! Josh and Holley were so helpful throughout the entire process, and during the week of, we really appreciate Holley and the other staff going above and beyond to help us realize our vision. In looking for a place for our wedding, my husband and I are not people who value luxury and aesthetics (we DIY'd all of our decor, got flowers at the local Shaw's, did not have professional makeup, did not have fancy plates / just used the camp's plates and cups, etc), but we (and our guests) were blown away by just how beautiful it is at the camp. The food all weekend was also so delicious - I had been a bit worried about not having a tasting, but it worked out great! Josh discussed with us our favorite types of food, and he crafted a creative menu for our cocktail hour / reception. The breakfast provided in the mornings was also delicious and bountiful. We have only good things to say about Camp Somerset! At the end of the weekend, nearly everyone was saying it was the best and most fun wedding weekend they'd ever been to.
This is our girls second year at Camp Somerset and couldn’t say more great things! We initially loved that Somerset offers the flexibility of doing 3 or 7 weeks each year but now both of our girls have throughly enjoyed camp and spend the rest of the school year counting down the days until they can go back to Maine. Kate and Josh are amazing directors who answered every question for us and made us feel good about sending the girls to Maine for their first summer. We’re so grateful to have found Camp Somerset.
Happened to be at Urban Air with my kids when this camp was there today. I am sensitive to the fact that it’s a big group and would naturally be dominant - but it was an incredible rude group of kids. When I asked the counselors (who watched it happen) and they then cut themselves. My girls were planning to go next year - but now it’s a hard no. Talk to your campers about courtesy and ensure your counselors have the skills to manage the group.
This is my one-year anniversary of my wedding at Camp Somerset. 5 Stars, 10/10, the place was amazing. All our guests loved the place and had so much fun playing and enjoying the camp before our ceremony. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking to do the camp wedding. The owner Josh is so flexible and professional.
Best summer camp in the world. I was the first camper to transition into a councilor. All of the head staff made this transition easy and smooth for me. I have had the best three summers of my life here and hope to have more in the future. I have made the best friends here and I have worked with some amazing kids. Somerset is the place to be ❤️💙
