Hidden Valley Camp is a coed overnight arts-and-outdoors summer camp in Freedom, Maine for ages 8–17, on more than 350 acres with a private lake and pool. Since 1948 campers have chosen from 50+ classes spanning visual and performing arts (including glass-blowing and pottery), horseback riding, llama and animal care, waterfront activities, hiking and nature. The camp is electronics-free.

★★★★★Sawyer Woodsi’ve gone to this camp for 2 almost 3 years i can talk about pros and cons for years, but i’ll never really finish, this camp changed my life and I strongly suggest you go, you can be whatever you want at this camp and you can do whatever you want, it’s amazing, ive met people that now i can’t even imagine my life without them, yes its in an area with animals and mosquitoes, and yes, it’s a new place no matter how long you have been there so yes you will be homesick and uncomfortable but if you don’t get used to that, your not used to sleep away camp, the camps food and programs are great, and the play and musical aren’t long, take 2 weeks to plan and finish, and you get to perform a play and a musical. Overall, if you don’t feel like reading all of that, this camp is great, there’s something for everyone, and everyone there is accepting, 5 stars. Go to this camp if you can

There are additional options of adventure trips, community involvement, apprenticeships, and horseback riding.

★★★courtneyThis is a very interesting camp. It's great for children and lots of activities to do. Though not always for the people working here. I was hired for the adventure counselor, basically taking the older kids on more difficult and exciting adventures to different parts of Maine and Canada. But after being there for only two days one of owners said I wasn't friendly and out going enough. So they said I could stay as a regular counselor I drove from pa and had packed for lots of tent camping. So I was not prepared to take care of twelve ten year old boys instead of 5 teens. My experience was not terrible but what i got from this place is if you haven't been coming here since you were a kid you definitely were a black sheep out.

The camp is such a wonderful mix of relaxed, creative, adventuresome and safe. They clearly put so much thought into everything from the activities they offer to the way they train and support their counselors. We love the international flavor of it too. If only we grown ups could be campers!
