Camp Mechuwana is the United Methodist camp of Maine, set on 200-plus wooded acres along Lower Narrows Pond in Winthrop. It offers overnight camps for children finishing 2nd grade through high school and a day camp for ages 5–12. Specialty programs span music theater, soccer, basketball, swimming instruction, science, woodcrafts, and creative arts alongside traditional waterfront and campfire activities.

★★Maine Wedding DestinationsI bet this place once upon a Time was great. But boy have they let it run into the ground I couldn't even believe the shape of our cabin or the food that they fed our group. You'd think with such a large group that they would make an effort. The first night they served spaghetti with tomato sauce and green beans breakfast was pancakes lunch was tater tots and heated up frozen breaded chicken on a bun. Dinner a little piece of chicken some rice green peas out of a can and a roll. We're supposed to be here for a full week with my kids. I think we'll be leaving early. It rained all day today but that's of no fault of their own. But when we have to put garbage baskets in different spots because the rain is coming through the roof and it's coming through the back door going all the way down the hallway into one of the other rooms. The door stopper is so molded I don't did a touch it to close the bathroom door I am attaching photos here. I've never seen anybody put tape over a busted window it should have been replaced such a shame. The place is just filthy. Years of spider webs. We won't be back next year at $320 a child for our church group they made thousands of dollars undeserved for this week.

★★★★★libsI've gone to Mechuwana for Cued Speech Camp ever since 1982 save for a few years I didn't go. I love this place! The food at the commons is decent and I love the Lodge for it's games and community fun. The firepit is the best. Need more lighting around there so deaf people can see the cued speech! My favorite building is the cabin built with donations from the Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation. Thank you Mechuwana, such a blessed place.
