I’m an experienced early childhood educator, teacher coach, curriculum developer, and education researcher, and I don’t leave reviews lightly. But I just had to comment how impressed I have been by the teachers and program at BOPN. Specifically, I’ve spent time with the JP location, and I’ve been so amazed by the respect the teachers have for the children and the environment. The language they use empowers children to be independent while maintaining a strong community relationship. And the way they support children in learning about nature through real experiences as they emerge (rather than teacher-directed or “frontal” lessons) was even better than I imagined. They are so knowledgeable! I don’t currently have children of my own, but if I did I would feel confident in sending them to BOPN.

I can't say enough good things about the Boston Outdoor Preschool Network! My daughter is thriving as she explores nature, learning about everything from bugs to birds. The teachers are fantastic—they really know each child and keep me updated on how my daughter is doing, both socially and developmentally. It’s so wonderful to drop off a happy kid who can’t wait for her day outside, even in the snow! I highly recommend BOPN for its great program and the amazing way they connect kids with the outdoors.

We are so happy to have found BOPN! Our youngest son started at the Malden/Pine Banks location when he turned 2.9 and in just one month with Julie, Jude and Noah has grown so much in his confidence and curiosity. He enjoyed being outdoors before this but wasn’t overly “outdoorsy” yet their approach has such warmth, their activities each day leave room for flexibility and creativity based on student interests, and their genuine love for exploration and learning outside is contagious. He is so happy and at ease at pickup each day. I highly recommend checking out their program, we are so happy we did!

BOPN is the best. I can't say enough good things about it. Think about it this way: if these teachers are willing to be outside with your kids, year round, rain or shine—they've gotta be pretty committed to this idea. And, in fact, they are. Our daughter has gained so much stamina, confidence, and joy from her experience there. Her curiosity is nurtured and she's constantly loved, cared for, learning and growing. She loves going every day.

We have had an amazing experience with BOPN's programs so far. Our son has been able to participate in "forest days" through the Sumner Elementary school and it was the best part of his week. We just finished a week long session during February break, and he just had the best time. We're looking forward to summer camp with BOPN as well! Could not be happier.
