Arts for Learning Virginia is a Norfolk-based nonprofit that places professional teaching artists in schools and community sites across Hampton Roads and runs summer arts camps for children roughly ages 6-12, with some sessions aimed at grades 3-6. Campers work in visual art - drawing, painting, sculpture and collage - and in theater, covering improvisation, scene writing, costume and set design, then present their work in community exhibitions and performances for family and friends. Several camps are run in partnership with the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, and early registration is discounted.
