Virginia Stage Company runs a summer theater camp in downtown Norfolk where campers rehearse and stage a full play with professional teaching artists, working on acting, ensemble games, costume and prop making, and vocal and movement technique. Six separate sessions are offered for ages 7-18: one-week camps for grades 1-5 run 9am-1:30pm, while two-week camps for grades 6-12 run 9am-3:30pm with drop-off from 8:30am. The VSC Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly and provided a lot of insights into what goes on "behind the scenes" during a performance. A local treasure that's not appreciated as much as it deserves.
