Deep Creek Community Center is one of four City of Chesapeake sites running Summer Blast Day Camp, the city's summer program for ages 6 to 12 who have completed kindergarten. Weeks are themed around nature, water fun, games, field trips, sports, and arts and crafts. The camp runs late June through mid-August, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m., with no early drop-offs, and costs $110 per week for Chesapeake residents ($115 for non-residents) plus a $25 registration fee. Registration is in person only at the center the child will attend, and each week must be paid for to reserve a spot. The center itself has a gymnasium, fitness and locker rooms, game room, meeting rooms and a kitchen.

Powered by GoogleFriendly family space, and fairly decent amount of equipment to get good workouts and play competitive sports.
I can get my kids to practice without dealing with evening traffic.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Alright, alright, alright. Deep Creek Rec Center? This place is the Wu-Tang Clan of rec centers – diverse, powerful, and straight-up iconic. You walk in there, and you feel the energy. Folks of all ages pumpin' iron, shootin' hoops, doin' their yoga thang – it's a beautiful thing, man. Big ups to the whole crew at Deep Creek. The staff's friendly enough to make even Charles Barkley smile (though that might be a challenge), and they keep the place lookin' sharp. Equipment's on point, classes are plentiful. Deep Creek might not have a fancy juice bar or a meditation room like some of these overpriced gyms, but who needs that stuff when you have good vibes and a community feeling stronger than Dwayne Johnson's handshake? This is where you go to get your sweat on, have some laughs with the regulars, and maybe even discover a hidden talent (never know when you might find your inner Michael Jordan on that dusty old basketball court). Deep Creek Rec Center? 5 out of 5 stars, easy decision. It ain't got all the glitz and glam, but it's got everything you need for a fantastic workout and a good time. So put down that bag of chips, lace up your sneakers, and get yourself down to Deep Creek. You won't regret it!
The only time I've went here was to work out at the gym. The gym is tiny only a hotel room size. Machines are old but still strong. I loved working out here because no one really went there so I had the gym to myself most of the time. Plus when people did come they were sweet to talk to. The price was only $25 for a year. Great prices. And there's a locker room for your belongings.
