Junior sailing camp run by a Yorktown yacht club since 1978, open to members and non-members ages 8-18. Weekly sessions run from late June to early August, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-3:30 PM, and campers learn to rig and sail Optis, Lasers and 420s alongside teamwork, weather and tide forecasting, marine conservation and maritime rules. Day one covers safety training, a swim evaluation and a capsizing drill; the final session week is an Intro to Racing for ages 10-18 with prior camp experience. Camp runs rain or shine, with instruction moving indoors in bad weather.
