Powered by GoogleI cannot praise this camp highly enough. My teen and younger daughter attended camp for the first time this week after already attending 2 other ymca camps this summer both day and expedition. My youngest daughter was having bad separation anxiety and was very emotional which I had been up front w Betsy about before camp. Ranger Joe gave me a ring the first night and we discussed some tactics to help her. He sent me an update the next morning and printed and laminated pictures of our family for my daughter to keep in her bunk. From then on she had a great time. She can’t stop talking about it telling me about pops and itchy and yeti. They both told me about so many awesome counselors including Minnie in my youngests cabin helping her through the “quiet times”. Now the song lyrics to the place take me home to the place I belong, camp kekoka mountain mama take me home were sung the entire 2.5hr drive home and into the night! The ability for the directors to be so responsive, really helped and I will definitely recommend this camp to anyone! Oh also the holiday theme: brilliant they loved it!!!
What a wonderful surprise! My son attended the camp a couple of weeks ago and he had such great time and made such wonderful memories and friends that he spoke about it the whole ride back to Dc and some more! Betsy , Joe, Crush and the rest of the crew are some of the most amazing, kind, decent and fun people ! Many blessings to you all and a happy rest of the summer! Thank you!🤗
It's a wonderful camp. My daughter enjoyed it very much. They have a lot of things for the kids to do, such as tubing, playing on the lake, archery, shooting air rifles I believe, and many more things. But more importantly, my daughter who is quirky felt very safe. There were two separate incidents when a boy started bullying her, the counselors took it seriously and shut it down. They did not bother her anymore for the time she was there.
My son had a great time at camp and looks forward to returning next year! The accommodations for camp were great, the food was awesome, and all of the activities and friends made camp memorable! The staff were also top notch and my son had nothing but good things to say!
My children had the time of their lives. This was an amazing experience for them. I would definitely recommend that other parents give their child this opportunity to enjoy being a kid at camp Kekoka. It was so many fun, exciting and new activities for them to do. They’re already talking about going back next summer and having their friends sign-up too. The sign-up was easy and Ana was amazing at helping through the process and we highly recommend Camp YMCA/APYC CAMP KEKOKA
