I have sent my kids to Camp Piankatank for the past three years and they love it! The counselors do their best to create an environment that is fun, engaging and nurturing. My son and daughter have made many friends through their time there, and usually count down to "Camp Week".

We sent our kids there and both had totally different experiences. One had a fairly good experience, however it was because she "fit in" with the others. She was even given a certificate at the end of camp, naming her the "Barbi" of the camp and that was her designated nickname daily. The older child spent 2 days and wouldn't go back and we didn't learn of why until it came time to sign up again. She expressed that the counselors were great but felt she was isolated and the things that were listed on the original list of things to do were not available. Yes, we live in a world where people come in different shapes and sizes, and we have to remember that when it comes to children, their interpretation of giving out awards for looking like a blond haired blue eyed doll can send a hurtful message to those who dont.

My family had a blast. Back to school 🎉🎉 party.. I just want to say thank you for making my son feel welcome at camp. He already said to put money in his savings account to go back again next summer.

The entire staff is amazing! We’ve had our kids going to this camp since our oldest was 13 and that was almost 10 years ago! The facility is great, and it’s a good old fashioned fun time for the kids. We love that it’s “unplugged” so the kids get out and experience real life.

The workers their were really nice and very helpful when you needed something. We had a great time even though it was sprinkling for a bit. We swam at the pool, played bazooka ball and went canoeing. I highly recommend for you and your family or even your church!
