The Family Center of the Altavista Area YMCA, home base for the Y's Camp Discovery summer day camp for children ages 4 to 12. Open 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., each week has a theme, a field trip and swim days, plus activities like bowling, a ropes course and science projects. Families pay only for weeks attended and financial assistance is available.
