I was at the YMCA in Newark NJ having to mind my business and keep a quiet head , there was one in a situation with my roommate after many weeks of complaining to staff which is one of the twins, and two other regulars that work there remind you I never got to explain my side which is he continued to bother me shacking the bed turning on the light at 12:00am in the morning ect. I have emailed jorme king about meeting with him about this fauls alligations about my roommate coming to them about a fight we never hade, it's documentations on me coming to them about him and there was a staff present which is one of the twins, I am completely confused to why they refuse to see the complete story picture. Mr king has refused to even talk to me after trying to reach him on multiple times /emailed and called.

Not all staff but some staff have a tyranny type complex and it shows in discussion I stayed for 3 weeks no issues until speaking with one of the floor managers on shift . Hunter excels in antagonizing clients/residents, instead of problem solving they go tit for tat . When voicing a concern about it I was told I'd have a meeting to discuss what's going on . Jerome who was supposed to mediate and conduct the meeting doesn't know how to problem solve either instead of replying to a matter of concern he replies days later and what's more acts aloof to knowing of our conversations both via email and in real life. Staff is nosey and unprofessional, not all . Instead of providing needed resources ,they beasting to write people up for "attitude" even when they are the cause of irritation. They know because most people need a place to sleep they can move how they want or say what they want to you and you just gotta deal. I loved the fact that they have a pool tho.

I can Honestly say the Staff are very disrespectful they try to belittle you an make you feel uncomfortable as well as the “counselors “ also the room me and my daughter stayed in was Extremely hot couldn’t even sleep we had to literally sleep with our door open I’ve seen Roaches it’s not as clean as they portray you would think this will be a place of assistance and help it’s not my best advice is too take what you can receive and Focus on your Goals and yourself when you know yourself as a person and your Purpose in life can’t Nobody not even the people who runs YMCA CAN TAKE THAT FROM YOU I have a voice and I will always speak my Truth that’s why when they try it I’m on it cause I’m too grown for the b.s like I said do what you gotta do for yourself cause these people could care less okay May God bless you all 🙏🙏💫 I am blessed

i stayed here for 3 weeks I never had a problem with anyone I leave early and come late just to avoid drama, the case worker refused to do my intake for 3 weeks but had no problem discharging me for someone harassing me. this person deliberately would come in the bathroom while I was in the shower playing my music and touched my phone I went to staff and told them im in the bathroom and she in there if she touch my phone again it will be a problem multiple times and yet again she touched my phone so I pulled her dusty wig on her head “now the person that so busy can’t do my intake stated she can press charges” I personally thought it was the same she can keep touch my things but I touched her wig it’s a problem. place filled with roaches anyways

Take your chances all up to you I enjoyed and loved it at my time of stay being there until ....... I am safe. Also, I want to thank all staffs and well as the workers at yw/mca kept up a very clean environment all areas and mostly checking up wellness keeping residents safer loved
