YMCA Camp Winnebago is a day camp run by the YMCA of Rock River Valley on more than 160 acres of woodlands in Rockford, Illinois. The grounds include three log lodges, three open-air pavilions, miles of trails and creeks, a pond, marshes and open fields, and the programme covers archery, canoeing, a Black Hole Slide, a climbing tower, creek study, gardening, a high ropes course, a splash fountain, field games, camp songs, skits and crafts, plus weekly overnights. Beyond summer the site hosts School's Out Camp Days on days the Rockford and Harlem districts are closed, including winter and spring break weeks. Breakfast and lunch are provided to every camper at no additional cost through the Summer Food Service Program, need-based Camperships are funded through the Y's annual campaign, and the Y accepts Illinois Child Care Assistance Program funding for families who file a Change of Provider form designating Camp Winnebago as their childcare provider.

Great area for children to play and explore. I love going to the Easter Egg Hunts. Then in the Fall the hayride, crafts and punkins.
The staff is amazing! They're so great with the kids and their creativity is outstanding! We are so excited for the "off season" activities and my kids both said they want to be ACs when they're grown! I am so happy with this organization. Thank you so much for all that you do to serve our community and the children within.
Camp Winnebago is truly a gem . My kids love camp. They get so many quality experiences outdoors. We hope to have the kids attend camp every summer. Great program. Excellent, caring staff members
Camp Winnebago is such a treasure. My daughter has spent the last two summers there, and she’s eagerly awaiting her third! The staff and counselors are wonderful. They are so kind and patient and hardworking and fun. They have created a really great community for the kids. Whether your kids go for a week or two, or for the whole summer, they should go! It is an experience of pure childhood summer magic.
