Refugee Education & Adventure CHallenge

Refugee Education & Adventure CHallenge (REACH) is a Chicago nonprofit running adventure camps for refugee youth ages 10–18 and their families. Summer Adventure Camps are day-camp sessions built on adventure sports and outdoor education — biking, climbing, kayaking, canoeing, nature hikes, forest restoration, fishing and river clean-ups — and youth can also join girls-only or boys-only overnight tent-camping trips or an extended traditional sleep-away camp with teambuilding, rope skills, bouldering, archery, river tubing and leadership development. The summer ends with a family picnic and awards ceremony. Adventure-Based English instruction is embedded in every session to support young English learners, and former campers return as peer mentors.
