although the staff were nice… this place was disgusting. just because it’s a campground doesn’t mean is needs to be dirty! dead bugs everywhere, leftover trash from past guests, mold growing in some of the cabins, showers are completely filthy… i’m sorry please invest in a cleaning team

I could not say enough about this camp.Being an alumni myself I knew my kids would love it as much as I did, and I was right! I love more than anything that they are completely unplugged from everything and are kids just being kids. Endless fun! One of my daughters had developed social anxiety after covid, so I was particularly nervous about her. It was not a permanent fix but it was the most wonderful feeling in the world when I picked her up. She said she was able to feel comfortable and made so many friends and great memories. That meant everything considering she’s now unable to do that in her everyday life. I am a huge advocate for this camp and just wish every kid had the opportunity to at least experience this camp once. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that makes this camp so great for these kids.

This was the first over night camp I let my son attend and was very apprehensive. I was a wreck the first time, last year. He loved it so much and I was beyond impressed with the camp that this year I sent him to adventure camp and the 2 weeks Burgess Camp. This year we will be doing the same thing and next year added a 2 week adventure camp. I love summers with him but this camp is invaluable and has helped him grow into a teen that has confidence.

My son thoroughly enjoyed this camp, it was his first overnight camp experience. He will be going back next summer with his brother and a couple more friends for a 2 week session. He thought the food was great and the counselors were very fun and supportive. He felt very comfortable and is looking forward to going back next summer.

Camp Burgess is one of the best things my boys have ever done - spending time making friends, in nature, with no electronics, learning responsibility as well as having a crazy amount of fun! These memories will last a lifetime. Their grandfather was a camper at Burgess, I was a camper at Hayward, and I hope they send their own kids for this wonderful experience someday!
