The Onset Bay Center is the Buzzards Bay Coalition's waterfront program site in Onset (Wareham), running on-the-water day camps for kids ages 8-15. Bay Explorers is a full-day, week-long session of kayaking, swimming, sailing, paddling and exploring Onset Bay, and a separate full-day Sailing Camp gives group lessons aboard training sailboats; other activities include rowing and shellfishing. Groups are capped at 10 participants with 1:5 staff-to-child ratios and at least two staff present, and breakfast and lunch are provided free through Wareham Public Schools' Summer Eats program. The center is a registered recreational camp with the Town of Wareham.

★★★★★N CThis venue is so gorgeous! It’s located right on Onset Beach with plenty of parking on the pier. The interior is coastal with a breathtaking view of the bay. The navy linens went perfect with the classic beach theme. The kitchen is a service area ONLY so be sure to think ahead on utensils and service items you might need. We hosted 90+ people easily. The set up we chose could have been better. The room is rectangular so our middle aisle was crowded at times when people moved toward the buffet and bathroom. The bluetooth speakers connected nicely to Spotify. A portable microphone could be an possible addition in the future. Angie and her staff were super nice to communicate before and after the event!

It really shines now and is a huge improvement to the Onset Village community. Angie and Stuart at the OBC, thank you for being wonderful to work with. Clear communication, helpful and so kind. The center itself is absolutely stunning. It’s located right on Onset Beach for those not familiar with the area. There is plenty of parking on the pier, and nearby streets. The interior is coastal and beautiful. You walk into a breathtaking view of the entire bay. The floor to ceiling windows completely sell it! The inside has an open high ceiling, nautical flag decor, nautical maps and some history on the property. Anything can be taken down for your event, but we chose leave everything because we love the coastal vibe and we appreciate the history. There’s a kitchen as well - mainly for storage, refrigeration and prep of any sort. Great restroom facilities too. The space is quite large - you could fit many tables (which the OBC has many for use) and dancing but we had such a gorgeous day that we all remained outdoors. Outside there’s a small patio just a step up from the sand, where we had a small bar set up, as well as a steel drum soloist (locally famous Dave Valerio!). We enjoyed taking photos on the nearby dock, as well as on the beach. Everything was just perfect, including the weather, which we know can be questionable! The center is a hidden gem. Thank you to the OBC and the staff for making our coastal wedding dreams come true!
