Not worth $40, let alone $60 if you are a non-resident. It’s been weeks and they still haven’t fixed the cable machine (there’s only two of them…). The fitness center employee sitting at their little desk hounds me and acts weird for wanting to use the small intensity room that I paid for, and as soon as 45 mins are gone they come to kick me out. I asked “Can you please unlock the intensity room for me?” and they respond with “Can I?” Are we in the fifth grade? Can you just open the damn room? Some areas are just too cramped, there’s barely any room to do stretches or athletic work. Save your money for a real gym. On the plus side, the basketball court is nice, but the balls they have suck so probably bring one. And the pool is also nice but you have to go in the few hours where it’s not scheduled. The front desk people are usually pretty nice.

I brought my kids to the gym to show them around and told them, “This is where I used to teach breakdancing.” While we were there, a woman saw us and looked absolutely disgusted. As soon as we left, she slammed the door and stared at us. My daughter was really upset by it, and honestly, I’m so glad I didn’t come prepared to sign up for a family membership — I would’ve regretted it. So, thank you to the rude lady for saving me the trouble.

This is a great facility and we enjoy being members. The only issues we have with the facility is their new childcare staff and set up is not good during the day. My kids loved to go there and now they can’t stand it and scream. Childcare staff enjoys their phones a lot. Also the aquatics director (existed before the Wayne takeover) was extremely difficult to work with when my father in law who was temporarily disabled needed to use a handicap set up for swimming and the swimming showers. For these reasons we are unsure if Wayne community center is worth it for families to use or for those who have any disability.

As a Wayne resident this place is very good opportunity to do some activities with my family. It has reasonable annual family fee which is coming with some free classes such as swimming for both kids and adults. We got a quick tour inside and then decided to enroll “family premium” package for a year. Enrollment was very easy since we already had Wayne Public Pool enrollments. They could easily used our information they already had. The pool is very good and large and has 6 lap lanes. There is one life guard on duty. The gym,I would say small” but this place is not only a gym, and acceptable. There are also some sports facilities like basketball and party rooms as well.
