Summer dance camps run by a nonprofit dance organization with studios in Boston's South End, covering contemporary, ballet, hip hop, acrobatics and improvisation with age-tailored curriculum. Half-day Kids programs (ages 3.5-7) run 9:00am-12:30pm or 1:00-4:30pm, and half-day Primary programs (ages 6-11) run 9am-12:30pm. Full-day options (9am-4:30pm) pair Urbanity's dance mornings with afternoon programming at neighbouring partner Minni, with staff walking campers between the studios. A dance-and-music week with the Boston Music Program runs 9:00am-4:30pm. Weeks are booked individually or as single days, and extended-day add-ons cover 8-9am and 4:30-5:30pm.

Urbanity has been such a wonderful experience for my daughter. She was very shy when she first joined, and it took her some time to feel comfortable, but the instructors are so kind, patient, and encouraging. Now she looks forward to every class and her confidence truly shines. We couldn’t be happier with her growth and the positive energy at Urbanity.

If you are looking for a dance studio in Boston for kids dance classes, look no further! The program is amazing, the teachers are skilled with dance and working with children and the community is incredible. Our daughter can learn all different types of dance in a fun, low pressure environment that doesn’t take itself too seriously but still produces amazing dance skills. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful program right in the middle of the city!

We live urbanity dance! So much so that after moving out of the city and trying other studios we decided it was worth the commute to come back to urbanity. The faculty is super.nice They know their students and can advice an class placement. Our daughter loves all her classes there and it has h lord her maintain a positive body image as well. I also love that urbanity is involved in so many community programs and committed to make dance accessible to everyone.

Urbanity is wonderful. Almost everyone I have interacted with is down to earth and professional. I took the summer beginner contemporary class with Dorothy Cherry—Wow! We met once a week for 10 weeks and I looked forward to every class. She is a natural teacher and a highly gifted dancer. Her classes flow with a beautiful mix of creativity, laughter, expression and skill building. There is also a sort of magical, spiritual element to her style that is very special. I look forward to taking more classes at Urbanity, especially with Dorothy.

I've always had an interest in dance but little formal class experience. I'm so glad I went for it in signing up for 2 10 week Hip Hop sessions. I absolutely LOVED my Urbanity experience with Jessie Alegria. She's absolutely amazing. The environment challenging, but more importantly: comfortable and empowering. Highly recommended for new and experienced dancers alike. The program director, Alison, is extremely responsive and professional, making the process easy and painless. I tell everyone who will listen that they should check Urbanity out.
