UAB University Recreation runs a summer day camp for children ages 5-12 at its campus recreation center in Birmingham. Campers swim, climb the indoor rock wall, play team sports and games, do crafts and take on-campus field trips from 9:00am–4:00pm. It is a university-run program; campers bring their own lunch.

Powered by GoogleIt's okay area, it's a dangerous area. There's always homeless people and things like that. In fact I've been robbed over there, my car got stolen and I was robbed at gunpoint. I mean it's not a great area. There's a lot of great things about the area though, it's a great area as far as recreation or hospitals are concerned but you got to be careful when you park your car walking to wherever you're walking because you could be robbed. So always remember to go in groups and try to not go at night time. But that's a shame that you have to say that about any area
Well organized and amazing facilities
This place sucks, as a student if you care about playing basketball go elsewhere to do it. They say they have “4” courts for basketball. No they don’t. Only one court is ever open bcs they left volleyball have one court and badminton have another court and there has been a court “under construction” for months now that has not had a single ounce of construction but they won’t put the goals down on the court. Also, there is never anyone playing badminton and rarely are people playing volleyball, but if you ask them to remove either netting for those the management here looks at you like you just punch a child in the face. There is an indoor soccer court (that no one ever uses fr either, I’ve been at UAB for 4 underage and now 2 post grad and I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve seen people playing soccer and badminton). But they refuse to make them share. How they approach the court sharing space and etc. is horrendous
Very nice. I went there for a jujitsu competition. The students at UAB should be proud of this place. Indoor pool, exercise room, basketball courts, racket ball courts, table tennis. Very clean well organized
Very nice recreation center. The staff here is very nice. Usually has not been very crowded when I have been by for a visit. There is a pool, racket ball courts, hand ball courts, 4 full size basketball courts and so much more including of course a full service workout facility.
