Unhelpful frontdesk, wouldn't bother to even greet customers. Beware that if you try to do a daily pass you'll spend 30 mins downloading apps and filling out forms, so in the end it is prolly not worth it. Great facilities otherwise.

My experience at this university just keeps getting worse... I commute 30-50 minutes back and forth, depending on traffic and would often times forget to bring my shorts to the gym. I was stopped by one of the associates that I have to bring my shorts on week 1 as a new student, since it is a safety hazard, but this is all done by the person who does a good job at taking care of themselves along with the equipment at the recreation center. UC Irvine's Recreation Center does not have this rule and it felt unwelcoming of CSUF's Recreation Center to enforce such rules on students. I asked one of the associates if they loan shorts or anything to students, in case I forget mine and often times I do, because I am a graduate student often running to campus to work on seminar work and research. Feels like I am wasting my gym membership at this university for not bringing shorts :/ I don't get financial aid either as a graduate student. Not welcoming students to the gym cause I forgot to bring shorts is insulting and a waste of my money.

The Cal State Fullerton Student Recreation Center is an excellent facility for both students and visitors looking to stay active. The center is spacious, modern, and well-equipped with a wide range of fitness options, from state-of-the-art cardio machines to free weights and strength training equipment. It also features basketball courts, a rock climbing wall, and a swimming pool, offering something for every type of workout. The staff is friendly and always available to assist, and the atmosphere is welcoming, whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete. Additionally, the center offers various fitness classes and intramural sports leagues, making it easy to stay engaged and motivated. Whether you’re looking to get in a quick workout or enjoy recreational activities, the CSUF Student Recreation Center provides a top-tier experience.

Good setup, spacious. I could only find 1 calf machine. No pictures allowed. There are two useless rules about no gym bags on the floor, which definitely bothers me as I don't want my phone or wallet stolen. There are plenty of lockers, though. The other bad rule is the banning of chalk. You NEED chalk if you're lifting heavy volume. This gym gets crowded, but the students are nice and willing to let you work in with them. A great variety of activities like rock climbing are here too.
