Google Reviews
Powered by Google“Discriminatory discount practices — no consistency, no fairness” This YMCA discriminates in how it applies membership discounts. There are no clear, consistent rules — discounts are given selectively based on who you are, not on any published policy. Different members receive different rates for the same financial assistance programs with no explanation or transparency. When I raised concerns, staff responded with excuses and outright lies rather than acknowledging the issue. There was no apology, no accountability. The director, Stephanie Banuelos, was the worst of all — dismissive, dishonest, and completely unwilling to take responsibility. This is not a misunderstanding or a miscommunication. It is discrimination, plain and simple. I would not recommend this YMCA to anyone who expects to be treated fairly.
Front desk staff was lovely and accommodating of me with my out-of-state membership. They have a separate room for free weights which is nice but can be intimidating for people who don’t normally do barbell work. No great spaces for stretching and mobility work unless the extra studio room is available. Wasn’t crazy about the instructor of the spin class and the way the class was run - music was too loud and instructions were not clear, but got a good workout in nevertheless. Locker rooms were fine. Bring your own lock. They also have a large pool but you have to make reservations in advance to get a lane for swimming.
Anderson Munger YMCA is the best! I love the Anderson Munger “Y”. It’s everything! The friendly warm vibes, clean wholesome environment, equipment options, and staff are giving 5 stars. We matter at the Y. It’s diverse, family oriented, and no creepy guys, or rude people. 2 thumbs up!
I came here to sign-up for the food. the front desk guy didn't process my application even though it was filled up and my id was with him while i waited for a long time. they sent me home with my application. he was helping the other latina ladies ,when they gave me my application back, who came 30+mins later than me. he couldn't process my application but can help the other women? i look ok but i'm currently medically disabled so for them to pick who to help is highly disappointing. the whole community goal of ymca is lost.
I’ve been coming here for years. It’s very clean, the staff is friendly, they have most equipment I need, and an indoor pool and sauna which I love. That being said, it’s cramped, it’s small, there’s not enough room for as many people go there at peak hours. Another thing that I don’t like is since covid they changed the hours so that it closes at 8 pm, it’s closed for 3 hours in the middle of the day and it’s closed weekends. There is no reason to keep the hours like this from what I see! Overall I like the gym, but please change back the hours
