The Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Recreation Center is a City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks facility in Sherman Oaks whose Camp Coyote day camps follow the LAUSD summer, winter and spring break calendar and come in Art, Gymnastics/Dance, Hollywood and Sports themes. Summer offerings include a general Summer Day Camp for ages 5-14, a Summer Sports Camp for ages 7-12, and a Pre-School Summer Camp for ages 3 1/2-5; registration and payment are online only. The Huston Street site has lighted baseball, soccer, football, tennis and volleyball facilities plus an indoor gym, children's play area and a swimming pool; daily camp hours are not listed on the center's page.

★★★★Andrea McDonaldI have a15 yr old & 11 yr old , and this is their favorite place to go. The outdoor basketball courts have the lights on fairly late ( at least 10pm). The 8 tennis courts have certain times where you can play for free, and times for reservations and pay a fee., There are 8 baseball fields, 3 soccer fields, 3 playgrounds,and a jogging track. Oh and how could I forget the pool..It is open more than most public pools,wth shallow area and lap lanes, and diving boards. Great park.

Has a great place to dress and shower and a person in the locker room to take valuables and put them in a locker she guards behind a chain link area inside the locker room.
