Tiny Artisan is a process-based art studio in downtown Jersey City whose summer camp is built for children ages 2-5, with guided art, sensory exploration, building, movement and imaginative play in small groups. Weeks are themed - Robot Makers, Plants & Gardening, Bugs and Butterflies - and campers walk to nearby Van Vorst Park. The studio describes the camp as an immersive creative studio experience rather than traditional childcare; registration is by downloadable form. Year-round it offers drop-off art and play classes, toddler prep, parties and workshops at 150 Bay St.

Powered by GoogleMy daughter attends the toddler program at Tiny Artisan, and we absolutely love it! The owner is incredibly hands-on and dedicated. The program goes far beyond simple art activities—my daughter is actually learning about different artists, practicing a variety of art techniques, and exploring her creativity (all without creating a mess at home!). On top of that, she’s learning songs, colors, and letters. It’s been such an enriching and engaging experience for our 2-year-old. We couldn’t recommend Tiny Artisan more!
We hosted our daughter’s 7th birthday party at Tiny Artisan, and it was absolutely amazing! Stephenie was so easy to work with and tailored the activities to my daughter’s interests. We chose canvas painting and hat decorating, and the kids also worked together on a group canvas, which was a lot of fun. It was a great mix of individual and group activities, ending with a fun dance party! Seeing all the happy faces was the best part! I highly recommend adding an extra half hour for kids ages 6+ to make the experience even more enjoyable. The setup and cleanup were seamless, and the staff was helpful every step of the way. We brought decorations but didn’t even need them—the space already looked adorable with a birthday wall. Overall, a fantastic experience—we’ll definitely be back!
After what felt like hundreds of hours of research, I came across Tiny Artisan Studio. I thought I was crystal clear about what I wanted in a preschool prep program: zero screen time, small class sizes, and opportunities for our daughter to explore her creative, artistic side. What we’ve found here is so much more. Stephenie greets us every morning at the door with a warm smile. Our little one is so excited to go to school that she recently chose school over a day at the zoo! Every day, she comes home with creations that absolutely blow us away. We’re incredibly grateful for Stephenie’s intentionality and effort. The care she puts into every detail, from the thoughtfully planned activities to the high-quality art supplies, do not go unnoticed. And the photos and updates we receive throughout the day are such a gift. Tiny Artisan Studio’s preschool prep isn’t just a great bridge to traditional school—it’s a phenomenal art experience, and we couldn’t be happier to have found it. Sharing some of my favorite art projects thus far.
Can't say enough amazing things about Tiny Artisans!!!! Our son started attending their toddler prep drop off program back in September 2021 when he was 2 years and 9 months old, and he's still with them now. They've worked with him on counting, letters, tracing, writing, coloring, spelling his name, painting, etc. Most importantly though, he has a ton of fun while he's there. He always comes home with really creative and amazing arts and crafts. He gets to color and create and play with all sorts of fun stuff. And we get to proudly display and show off all of his amazing artwork and crafts around the house, which makes him proud and confident. Miss Stephenie and her staff are great with the kids and are super nice and fun. They're also extremely professional, sweet, and helpful. They have allowed our son to stay late on more than a few occasions on last minutes notice when we've had some emergencies pop up. Our son looks forward to going there each morning. And we are confident, comfortable, and excited for him every time we drop him off, knowing that he's having fun and creating fun projects that he's extremely proud of every day. We feel very lucky to have found them and been able to send him there. We would wholeheartedly and emphatically recommend them to anyone who's looking for a toddler drop off program!
We recently hosted my daughter's birthday at the Tiny Artisan and it was one of the best experiences we have had. My daughter and her friends had an absolute blast doing 2 theme specific art/ craft activities that they got to take home afterwards. Stephenie was amazing to connect with from Day 1 - clear on what to expect, flexible with minor changes we had and super easy to work with. The kids also enjoyed dancing to music and hanging out in the space after to enjoy cake and light food. Highly recommend this experience to parents that are looking for a intimate but super fun experience.
