Camp days run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a half-day format that will not cover a full workday. As a parent, I am very pleased with our experience at Thunder Road Music Academy. Both of my children recently started taking lessons here. One began with piano and is now also learning guitar, while the younger one truly enjoys playing the drums. Even though they have not been attending for a long time, I can already see their progress and, more importantly, their motivation. At their age, it can sometimes be challenging for kids to practice consistently outside of class, but the encouragement and quality of teaching they receive from the instructors make a real difference. The teachers are not only knowledgeable, but also inspiring and patient, which keeps them excited about learning music. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere at the academy is warm and inviting. As parents, we appreciate how flexible they are when it comes to scheduling and working with us to accommodate our children’s needs. For our family, giving our kids the opportunity to learn an instrument is something we value deeply. As small business owners ourselves, we also recognize and appreciate the personalized and high-quality service that Thunder Road provides. This combination of professionalism, care, and community makes us feel very comfortable and confident in our choice. We are grateful to have found this academy and look forward to seeing our children continue to grow in their musical journey here.

My teen daughter, who is high functioning, on the ASD spectrum, has been taking drum lessons at Thunder Road for over two years and she absolutely loves it! She’s learned so much and has really become a good drummer. My family and I really enjoy attending the mini concerts TR has for the kids, where they get to show off their skills to everyone. Clyde, the staff and the teachers are always so kind and accommodating. I would highly recommend TR if your kiddos are interested in taking lessons here.

We've had 2 students here at Thunder Road for years, and I cannot speak highly enough about them. From the get-go we were welcomed with enthusiasm and the same energy is there today as it was on day one. Butch and Ryan are amazing teachers and the camps each summer are so much fun. Thank you, looking forward to seeing what our future rock stars can do!

Both of my kids have taken lessons here (bass, guitar, drums, and voice). The instructors clearly love what they do and the kids have a lot of fun and have learned so much and improved so much. Clyde and his team are very passionate about teaching people of any age music. They also offer summer camps. Those are open to students and non-students of any level. A week of learning songs and then playing a concert at a local venue. Talk about feeling like rock stars! If you’re thinking about signing up for lessons, do it!

I would like to start by acknowledging that we were late for the introductory session due to traffic. However, we informed the instructor about our delay because of an accident on the road, and he said it was okay. When we arrived at the school, the instructor mentioned that the session would only last 10 minutes. He didn’t even ask my son if his seating position for the drums was comfortable. During the session, he played a song but showed little interest in correcting the mistakes my 7-year-old was making. This experience was absolutely shocking, especially since we have attended other music schools in a different state. I would definitely recommend staying away from this school. I wonder why people are so rude especially for some things which none of us are responsible for. Anyways I am not sending my son there nor would I recommend this place to anybody in my friends circle. 8/15/2025: As a response to the comment from the owner, I was never given an option to reschedule. Please do not try to mislead the people by claiming things you didn’t offer. I am truly disappointed and actually astonished to see you trying to peddle fake information in this platform .
