The Irvington Club is a historic tennis and swim club in northeast Portland, established in 1898, with an extensive junior tennis program spanning beginning pee-wee players through high school. It offers summer junior tennis instruction covering technique, stroke production, and point play, led by USPTA-certified pros. Called for a private tennis lesson per the instructions of their site and Cris was rude and despondent. Seems that’s a theme from other reviews. There’s really no need to be callous. Update your website, if it’s not an option for non-members, then making that clear is quite easy.
I would have to say that the court was amazing, did not see any damage and scorecards included on every court. Craftsman style outside was nice design, surrounded by Portland vibes with turnabouts. Indoor was dungeon like feel but nice and sealed, nice and cozy. Bathrooms, showers, filtered water, towel service all great. The BIGGest feature would have to be the second floor open bleachers. Best viewing angle you can ask for to see all 4 courts at once. If you want to get a closer view, you also get two sets of these bleachers downstairs next to court 1.
Review for swim membership and team only: Great place to be a summer swim member! It takes a long time to get in, usually several years, and they only let in a few families each year. Sign up, and wait. It's worth it! Swim lessons are for members and non-members. The coaches are great and kids have fun.
Nice club. They have 4 indoor and 2 outdoor courts. Extremely good viewing areas for the indoor courts.
