The Cooperage Project is a Honesdale nonprofit community center, founded in 2012 in a restored barrel factory at 1030 Main Street, that runs week-long Coop Camps each summer. Campers do hands-on projects, community-building games and icebreakers with snacks provided; incoming 3rd-4th graders meet in the Cooperage Building and incoming 5th-6th graders in the Stoneworks Youth Building, both 9am to 3pm at a recent cost of $125 per week. A separate Camp Romping Radishes serves children entering 1st-2nd grade from 8:30am to 12:30pm, and partial scholarships are available by application.
