NJ YMHA and YWHA Camps

Camp Nesher is a Modern Orthodox Jewish sleepaway camp for boys and girls entering 3rd through 10th grade, on the Nesher Campus at 90 Woods Road in Lakewood, Pennsylvania, in the northeast Pocono Mountains; it is run by NJY Camps, whose winter office is in Fairfield, New Jersey. The day is choice-based, with activity periods spanning sports, arts, waterfront, outdoor adventure and Torah learning, and the camp states that 'both Torah and Tefillah play an integral role in our daily lives'. Sessions are full season, first session, second session or a nine-day Short Stay, running from late June to mid-August. A resident medical staff of a doctor, three registered nurses and an administrator lives on site and is on call 24 hours a day in an air-conditioned health centre; the camp is nut-sensitive with vegetarian and gluten-free options, is strictly non-tipping, and runs an inclusion program with Yachad, Yachad B'Nesher, so children of varying abilities take part in all camp activities.
