The Conservatory at Highlands

Week-long summer music sessions at a Newton Highlands music school, with three tracks: Band Camp (rock and jazz bands), String Camp and Beginners Band. Students age 6 and up are placed in ensembles by age and experience, play their favorite songs under faculty direction, try instruments new to them and take part in music games and crafts; the week ends with a concert for family and friends. Recording sessions and outside breaks at the Newton Highlands playground are part of the week. Students bring their own instruments when they have them.

They have fantastic instructors playing all instruments (many multiple) for any level. (I started playing guitar a few years ago in middle age with NO background.) I have been taking both private guitar lessons and ensemble (band/group) lessons there and now am playing pretty complicated songs in a group and love it. Also very supportive and nice staff and instructors. They really go out of their way to make sure you have the support you need, sending tips by text in addition to class, accommodating schedules, running great recitals and all. Give them a try you will love the place!

The facility is brand new and high end (they even have a fancy drinking machine). The sound proof of the rooms is great and the staff are so friendly. They have amazingly flexible and easy payment process for family and it was so easy to work with them. Owner Dave is incredibly accommodating and so is our guitar teacher Pat. Pat always taught my son for extra time which was truly appreciated. I was sad that we couldn't stay but this is a great place that I felt strongly to recommend to families in the area.
