As someone not from NC, I really wanted to do a grad shot in a farm to commemorate my time here. I emailed Mina regarding doing a grad shot here and she responded very fast helping us coordinate the horses and the shoot. My photographer and I felt very welcomed at the farm and the horses are beautiful and very gentle. They also have other animals like rabbits and goats, we had a great time!

Took my little one over the weekend who had suddenly gotten the idea to “ride a horse” to the first time. Staff were incredible, and she *loved* riding Sunshine! The young man who walked with us showing around the farm was so helpful. Equally enjoyed petting and feeding the bunnies, goats, and pigs. She’s already asked to go back!

My 11 yrs granddaughter had a chance to reclaim her childhood by participating in Sunrise Community Farm Center’s Trailblazer Program July-August 2025. The electronic devices were loosing competition with opportunities to interact with other children, farm animals and birds. This grandma couldn’t be more happier to witness the genuine excitement and enthusiasm of my grandchild to learn how to become a Junior Mentor. Thank you Spence and staff 🙏❤️

We've visited this farm for many events and held a few birthday parties here. We really enjoy seeing and interacting with the animals. One suggestion I would say is for birthday parties, we feel the educational talking in between activities should be much more limited. It took up most of the time, leaving not much time left for the activities that were included and that we had planned. For the majority of our time there we were listening to long-winded discussions, and the horse riding was rushed at the end because by then we were past our allotted time. I was disappointed that our birthday girl was forgotten for her second lap around and then it was rushed because of it. The people were nice and I really appreciate the education aspect, but it really should be shortened so the kids can have more time for hands on experience and time for the activities we also had planned, without guests having to leave. Also, if you plan to have a birthday party here, I would recommend summer birthdays instead of winter months, because there isn't much to do in the garden in the winter months. My other child had a birthday here in the summer and it was so enjoyable due to the amount of vegetables and herbs, but in the winter there's really nothing there to do except to pick weeds. Which we didn't even have time to give to the rabbits because of all the talking. I'm hoping there will be some tweaking concerning this in the future, because it really is a beautiful and fun place to go aside from these issues.

We had an amazing two-hour experience at Sunrise Community Farm Center. Justin was incredibly patient with our 6-year-old, who had numerous questions throughout the visit. Highlights were the horseback ride with Spence and animal feeding sessions. Spence's extensive knowledge and his emphasis on treating animals with respect made a lasting impression. If you're in the area, I highly recommend a visit to this farm.
