We enrolled our daughter at Roswell Gymnastics because she absolutely loved gymnastics. It was her passion. We even made major changes to our family’s life to support her dream and provide what we believed would be the best opportunity for her to thrive. Unfortunately, our experience on the competitive team was heartbreaking. Throughout the year, our daughter endured ongoing exclusion, teasing, embarrassment in front of others, and name-calling from a group of teammates. While some people may dismiss these incidents as “kids being kids,” the reality is that repeated behaviors create an environment where certain children are made to feel they don’t belong. No child should have to walk into practice wondering who will make them cry that day. We brought our concerns forward, hoping things would improve. Instead, our daughter—who once counted down the days until practice—began dreading gymnastics. Her confidence disappeared, her performance declined dramatically, and she repeatedly begged us to quit the sport she had loved for years. What makes this even more painful is that we know she was not the only child who experienced being made fun of, excluded, embarrassed in front of others, or called names. From our perspective, it had become a culture among a group of kids who felt entitled to decide who belonged and who didn’t. Roswell has talented coaches and strong programs, and this review is not meant to diminish the hard work of the staff or athletes. However, skill development and winning meets should never come at the expense of a child’s emotional well-being. A truly successful program should also foster kindness, inclusion, and accountability among its athletes. We ultimately made the difficult decision to remove our daughter from the program to protect her mental and emotional health. I share our experience in the hope that other parents ask not only how a gym develops athletes, but also how it protects and nurtures the children entrusted to its care.

Awesome, large boys team with very competent coaching staff. If you have a son who is interested in gymnastics this is the place to be. Great group of boys and a very supportive environment for male gymnasts.
