Powered by GoogleThis gym is not welcoming to boys. My son was a gymnast there for 11 years and reached level 10 in the men's competitive program all for the owner to notify the team parents by email that she was cancelling the program without warning. The owner is hostile in her communications and is being brainwashed by the girls head coach. If you have a male gymnast, take him to Top Notch, Roswell Gymnastics or Amplitude, those gyms really care about continuing to train gymnasts in this dying sport. The owner of ASG and girls head coach only care about the girls competitive program and are working to eliminate gym space allocated to other classes so the girls team has 99% of the gym space to train. The rec classes and camps are a joke and no more than a money grab.
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the coaches and level 6 gymnasts of ASG. I have never stepped foot inside this gym, but if the upstanding actions of their competitive team and coaches at the Paws for a Cause meet are any indication of the culture they build, then it is truly something special. At this competition, my daughter was the only Level 6 gymnast from her gym and was placed in a flight with 8–10 girls all from ASG. Seeing that she was alone, the ASG coaches took the time to ask my daughter’s coach her name and then encouraged their entire team to cheer her on throughout the meet. Those girls and their coaches did exactly that. They celebrated her big moments with her, cheered her on, and made sure she always felt supported. What could have been a lonely and intimidating experience turned into one of encouragement, kindness, and great sportsmanship because of the intentional actions of ASG’s coaches and athletes. I am incredibly grateful for the way they showed up for a gymnast who wasn’t even their own. Moments like this are why we love the sport of gymnastics so much and ASG should be very proud of the example they set.
My daughter loves coach Dylan! He makes learning tumbling fun!
Since moving to ASG little over 5 months ago, we have seen the love and care that Stacy (the owner) has for each child and coach that walks through her doors. We are on a highly competitive team and yet I see all of the children getting the same attention whether they're new to the sport or training at a high level. We have seen great improvements in communication, coaching, and overall programming. This gym truly focuses on gymnastics and ensuring every gymnast has a positive experience.
The instruction here is really good for developing core strength, but I think to learn tumbling the ratio of instructor to student isn't adequate. It seems to be improving, but each child needs more one-on-one. I see from the more advanced classes that those that stick with it get a great training, though.
