Richmond Olympiad Gymnastics

We were at Richmond Olympiad for several years. Over the past two years, the program experienced significant staffing challenges, which resulted in inconsistent coaching for the athletes. We ultimately decided to leave because we felt the understaffing was negatively affecting our daughter’s experience and development. Just as concerning was the fact that the staff refused to sit down and meet with us about our concerns despite our requests. Additionally, multiple professionals informed us that our daughter’s injury was likely related to improper technique. While we wish we had been able to transition sooner, we remained bound by our contract. During our final weeks with the program, the gym declined to accommodate alternative practice times, despite knowing that the scheduled training times conflicted with our work obligations. Given our long history with the organization, we were disappointed that our concerns did not appear to be met with greater flexibility or consideration for our daughter’s well-being.

As a fellow small business owner, I appreciate excellent customer service. I had a payment issue due to my credit card getting stolen. Richmond Olympiad was compassionate and worked with me. As far as the quality of the classes: my 5 year old enjoyed both the summer camp and classes during the school year. The teachers are kind and patient. My daughter is having a blast and learning a ton!

School is nice except if you're enrolled they don't re-enroll you into the next session you have to keep signing up and early to make sure you keep your spot. It's pretty annoying. And of course you lose your spot.

I grew up in this gym, I’ve always adored the teachers and the programs that are offered here. Judy and Gordon Shaw have dedicated their whole lives to gymnastics and it shows. Love this establishment it’ll always have a place in my heart.
