Above the Bar Gymnastics Academy runs a school-age gymnastics and fun camp for boys and girls ages 5-12 at its 18,000-square-foot air-conditioned gym in Ashland. Camp meets as four-day sessions, Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 12:00pm, at $250 per week with the $50 registration fee included; families sign up week by week and a $75 deposit holds the spot. Early drop-off and late pick-up are available for an additional fee, and the gym reserves the right to reschedule a week that does not reach six children.

★★TM JDFacilities are great compared to other gyms and they have a class for boys only, which is great. But if you think their main coach will train your kids, it is a mistake. Kids will be trained by youth gymnasts. Often there were 10- 14 kids and only one 18 year old (I can assume the age) boy trying to pretend he can teach so many kids at once. I understand he could be a great gymnast, but he does not have enough experience to control a big groups of kids and this is totally administration’s fault. There is a high turnover of boys in boys class because parents quickly understand the situation and leave. After 3 months we also left.

The gym has a good amount of boy gymnasts which made it perfect for our boys to see the older ones and being able to add my youngest at roughly the same time every week made it perfect for our family. It is well run with knowledgable staff and instructors and having teens/young adults as instructors was an added bonus for us.
★★★★★Rva MochaMy son had his fifth birthday party here. There were thirteen kids and their parents. Everyone was very impressed and the kids had a blast. We had the entire gym to ourselves. There were three awesome instructors that entertained the kids for an hour with various obstacle courses and the foam block pit. There was plenty of room for the parents to relax without having to chase their kids around. We had pizza and cupcakes after the hour of instruction. The place was super clean and the equipment was in very good shape. The owner, Terry, even introduced my son to the boys coaches one day when we stopped by before the party. We will definitely considering enrolling in classes in the near future.
