Raritan Yacht Club at 160 Water Street in Perth Amboy runs summer sailing classes on Raritan Bay, meeting on the club deck and sailing the club's Optimists, 420s and other boats. The club says its summer camp sailing runs at capacity every year and offers classes for a range of levels. Every student must pass a basic swimming test both with and without a PFD, wear a properly fitting life jacket each day, and file a completed medical form and permission slip. A separate Juniors social program, with a $20 per child annual fee, connects children of club families with others of similar age.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Raritan Yacht Club directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

It’s an old-school yacht club. Great place to learn how to sail. The building housing the club is a sprawling, spacious structure — that’s been around forever. There’s a good restaurant inside — with stunning harbor views. Every year, they host a New Year’s Eve party — with live music and amazing food.
Excellent food at club restaurant. Most members are very friendly and welcoming. Club facilities are well maintained. Officers also actively engage members to participate in club affairs. Highly recommend!

Love racing Wednesdays here. My crew is great. Service at club is good. Food needs some work.
